RSV

RSV

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a common virus that affects the nose, throat and lungs. It usually causes mild flu-like symptoms, but can be more serious in adults with chronic lung or heart diseases, or adults 75 ears of age and older. Right now there are no approved antiviral treatments for RSV. That's why we're studying a new drug. Early results in a small numer of participants have shown that it is well tolerated, and may be able to help fight the virus. This study is to see how well it works in a larger group of patients.
  • You have a new onset of any of the following symptom(s) or worsening of preexisting symptom(s) consistent with a respiratory tract infection no more than 72 hours.
  • Body mass index ≥18 kg/m2 and ≤40 kg/m2.
  • Tested positive for RSV infection.

If you take part in this study, you will take tablets by mouth twice a day for five days, your participation in the study will last up to 31 days.

During the study you will have at least six visits at the clinic. At each visit your general health will be checked, as well as other tests. This tests help us understand how well your body is tolerating the study drug, and how well the study drug is fighting the virus on your body.
